AAARH!!! Still auto issues with my tractor!!!!!!
« on: 06 March 2010, 16:50:12 »

hi all at oof, i was having some autobox trouble i droped the main sump, put on a new ATF fillter and and new ATF,

went to take her for a spin around the block,
but as i put my foot on the breaks to select gear the revs would climb to about 1500 and auto transmition came up on display, now the car wont rev up off the throttle, wont pull in gears, we can get moving but the car wont give me any grunt,,

turn the car off and start it again i put i straight into 1 gunned it and it pulled like a train i selected 2 it changed good but then i had to break and the problem starts all over again

i love my omega but she is starting to test me now lol

any help would be very helpful as i havent got the foggiest
i checked the servo vacume for leaks as i thought this could be a clue but i wouldn't of thought it would throw up an auto warning

thanx a mill all at oof

Did you top up the ATF level with the engine running and after having selected each of the gears?

Can't imagine that the brake servo could affect idle rpm on a traktor like it could on a petrol :-/ Doesn't the vacuum come from a pump on the back of the alternator?

i toped it up engine running in P left the sump plug out lowerd the car down of the trolly jack to allow excess oil come out, put back in sump plug,

selected R to reverse out of my drive,

pressed the break to select D and the problem starts as soon as i press the breaks,,

i guess it must be some kind of eletrical fault but totaly unsure realy, a bit of a stab in the dark realy

yeah the servo pipe runs off the cam i think,,

My way of doing 'em:
Start engine, and with handbrake securely 'on' move selector into'N'.
Crawl under car, and remove plug, topping-up if necessary.
Refit plug, and move selector manually through ALL gears.
Get back under car, remove plug, and top-up again.
Refit the plug, and take it for a run.
Check ATF level again on return.

Simples (should be!).

ill try again sethsmate,

but would this cause the engine to rev to 1500 on pressing the breaks, plus knock up the auto transmition warning on my display unit????

if my thrust washer has gone what are the symptoms of this????  :'(
