Facelift foglight bulbs
« on: 28 May 2010, 10:15:12 »

Hi all

Can anyone tell me how to replace a foglight bulb on a facelift omega?

It doesn't tell me in the online manual - do I have to remove the bumper?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Cheers

I reckon it would certainly be easier to remove bumper.  Only takes 5 mins to remove it anyway...

Probably not, but I'd bet its a damn sight easier, esp the first time you do it, so you can see what to do.  Bumper comes off in less than 5mins, dead easy.

Cheers again everybody - I'm going to give it a go now.

Hopefully won't need to start new post entitled 'HELP - How do I put a bumper back on!!'.

That's the only downside, that I've found to owning an Omega - no instruction on how to do this. Haynes is absolutely useless - as I'm sure you all know already.

Thanks again - this is, without equal, the most helpful site I've ever been - a credit to everyone.

2 screws each side securing bumper to wheelarch (on facelifts, the lower screw is up from underneath).

1 screw near each headlight

2 (3 on facelift) clips underneath holding bumper to subframe.

When to pull forward to withdraw, unplug fogs and temp sensor - one plug for each (1 plug for all on facelift)

Refit, in true haynes style, is reverse method ;D

Nah, you can change the facelift foglight bulbs without dropping the bumper.

Just reach up to them from underneath. 1/4 turn and the bulb pulls out.  :y

That makes much more sense - I'm having a problem undoing the hex screws.

Bulb changes should be much easier than dropping bumper.

In the online manual it mentions foglights but not how to replace a bulb.

Thanks for that
