« on: 04 June 2010, 23:29:01 »

hi i just purchased a 3.0 mv6 omega on a 1999 very clean and was running great . but all of a sudden my idle became lumpy but when u press the throttle its dead smooth .over the last few days ive read stuff on this site and got to work but still not right .ive check and cleaned breather box and the pips comming from that unit but already clean  ive cleaned that long black bit on top of manifold ive cleaned the throttle body .ive checked timing marks ive made sure all little pipes are going to the right places .but my rocker gaskets were leaking so i changed them and they leak still i checked and cleaned idle valve ive put new spark plugs in and ht leads full oil changed and gave her a good flush but i did notice the passenger side egr pipe coming from the manifold has a large kink but exhaust gas still comes out of it .also that eco tech hoover dont work thats in the wing next to the horns i dont know if that would have anything to do with some of my problem how important is that hoover i hope some1 can help me please please oh 1 other thing ive sprayed carb cleaner all over the show cos i thought i might have a air leak but engine did not change while spraying it

The "hoover" under passenger wing is the secondary air pump (SAI) don`t need it so don`t worry about it not working. Camcover gaskets, did you use genuine and torque bolts to 8Nm. Suggest you `clip it and see if you`ve any fault codes lurking http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687

My guess would be plug leads and/or DISpack fried by leaking camcover gaskets. Wont throw up a fault code btw. ;)
