Safe Mode - radio
« on: 23 July 2010, 22:46:55 »

Hi/

For some strange reason my stereo has gone to safe mode, i have all the codes, but now its in safe mode i cannot use it. The car is omega 2.5 v6 CDX 1998. Any sugestions or is it a trip to the local vauxhall garage.

many thanks,

Safe does mean its locked, changed the battery recently or lost power? AS button should allow code entry

OK, my crystal ball is in for repair this week, so I am making assumption that its a ccr600 ;)

These steps...
Ign On
Radio Off (leaving ign on)
Press and hold AS
Turn Radio On, keeping AS pressed until beep
Enter code when prompted using 1,2,3,4 buttons
Press and hold AS until beep to submit code.

If you have already had a couple of attempts, the radio may be in a wait state. If so, you have to leave it on continuously for the entire length of the wait state (initially 10m, but up to 11hrs)
