If you get a good one (no comment about that one) then yes they work very well. I have one.

I recommend the AEI Digisender. One on ebay here.

Nope, not a con.  I have a set of these and they work great.  The only downside is that you can only watch the same channel on every TV but that's not a problem for me really.

They tend to be variable. Good ones tend to do almost what they say on the tin, poor ones are pretty rubbish.  The frequency band they tend to use (2.4G) is just way to crouded for successful operation.

A cable will always be satisfactory, senders ultimately a disappointment.

Ahh, if it's 2.4G it's in the same band as wireless LAN, and with so many wireless routers around finding a quiet frequency could be a challenge.

As TB says, a wire is the best (and cheapest) solution unless it's impossible to achieve.

I use a "loft box" which pipes terrestrial, satellite and radio antenna signals down one wire to the lounge, through the set top box, PVR, etc. and back up. It also allows remote control signals to be sent down the coax from each extension.

That means carting DVDs up and downstairs. Too much like hard work...
