Me too but with 4 wheels. 1973 HMS Ganges Motor Club, auto tests. Remember it well Triumph Herald and no syncro on first. Maybe not to that standard but we tried our best. Other option was a Morris 1000.
Can’t do it in our Tesco at the weekend, to busy, Asda late at night seems to gather one or two though.

Just about. Had a Renault 4 once as a company car, used to frighten my mates on a sharp bend, I knew it would not fall over!!!
Renault 16 really comfy car, Renault 25 V6 engine, as a youngster used to love to ‘blip’ the throttle and see the bonnet go up and down, always got a thrill, still in my teens when I drove these. Workd for a Renault Garage.

In those years there was a gap in time between Europe cars and my

country, reason was the customs politics..

Renault and Fiat low models were produced only..And import cars

were highly taxed.

Nearest I have come to old Renaults  for comfort is my C4 Grande Picasso, like sitting in an armchair while driving, health wise I need such comfort and easy to drive car.  Still have an Omega though, sitting on the drive, that is another story.
