My car today has  cut out several times and will not fire unless left for maybe half an hour and then it  starts this has happened  5 times any idea what problem is?

9/10 times crank sensor.

Do the "Pedal Trick" as found in the maintenance section... You'll get the code for a Crankshaft Sensor

Replace ASAP before it gives up altogether and leaves you stranded

...not always you won't..
but its 99% CPS causing the issue, and easy to replace anyway

LOL!! Oh for sure it will probably, I am just saying that if not, then this is still probably Crank sensor, and should be replaced for the sake of what it fixes in this instance

You were correct Crank sensor was the problem

Sorted the problem it was the crankshaft sensor .For some reason the car is much more responsive after fitting new sensor from a sedate car to a racing car. does this mean that my timing or fuel injection is timing better. interesting to see how the fuel consumption goes.
