Spanish Villa Rental
« on: 09 January 2008, 09:51:22 »

Some friends and I where thinking of renting a pad in Spain for a week. In Mid March, Does anyone know of any good places? I have been browsing quite a few on the web, and found some nice ones, but wanted to post up here.

Anyone here rented on recently?

I want to go to South Spain for a bit of sun, and avoid the heavily tourist areas.

Cheers

I live there North West of Granada! We will have a rental unit later this year.

Weatherwise you can get nice sun in March. The summer weather set in last year for us from Mid April with no rain till Mid Oct. The further West you are the more likely it will be that you get rain. (Grazalema is amazingly the wettest place in Spain and is near Ronda) It is drier further East towards Almeria. Coastal strip area tends to be a few degs C warmer than inland in Spring

If you want a coastal area I would suggest somewhere like Nerja or Almunecar. Inland is lovely and the Alpujarras region for example is still relatively unspoilt past Bubion towards Cadiar. Trevelez is the highest town in Spain. You are an hour from the coast, half an hour from the Sierra Nevadas which will still be snow capped till June. Granadas Alhambra Palace is well worth a visit if you like Moorish architecture. Depends what you want.

You could try Ownersabroad web site for rentals.

pm me if I can help with more specific info.
