Paper Clip Test
« on: 19 September 2010, 12:21:26 »

Hi,
Just done clip test on my 2000 2.5TD and got following error

49 Glow Device General Error

The car starts ok etc, so does this error mean that just one of the glow plugs is not working?
Is it better to change all the glow plugs as a set?

Cheers, Brian

I have the same code up, changed all glow plugs yesterday. just waiting to see if the code clears now.

If your going to the trouble then you better change them all, it's a lot of work just to change one then find a month later you have to do it all over again.

Pig of a job, lost 3 manifold nuts and a socket with extension bar attached in the depths of the engine somewhere, never to be seen again.

Yup, no joy, nowhere to be seen. I suspect they are on the tray under the engine.  :'(  A job for another day.
