oil leak
« on: 29 August 2014, 19:20:36 »

any advise please...my 2.2 omega has a very slight oil leak which on inspection is coming from the top of the bell housing...I removed the exhaust manifold heat shield to get a better look at it....i cleaned all the oil off with carb cleaner and now after doing 60 miles....it is back again....It appears to be coming from the back of the block in line or maybe just above the exhaust manifold..I have checked the cam cover gasket by inspecting where the spark plugs go in and the 4 holes are perfectly dry.....Could it be that the cam gasket is leaking from the back ???,,the only other thing is that the previous owner had the head gasket replaced in January this year,,,Is there an oil rubber ring that sits in the block between block and head and has started to weep oil...thanks...
