Noisy Tappets
« on: 22 October 2010, 11:08:09 »

Hi, Following on from my post "think the mv6 is dead" - (it's not)
following the low oil pressure and subsequent sump and pick up pipe cleaning I have just taken it for a spirited 70 mile drive and all ok apart from noisy tappets.

Someone did say it may take a while for the top end to settle but I'm not sure how long a while would be.

Other possible cause could be I only have motosave oil in at the mo as I figured I'd be doing a couple of oil changes in the next couple of weeks, so saved my GM oil for when happy engine is clean.

Please help.
Dave.

Will see how it goes, does it do any harm while they're noisy?
I should actually say "it" as it's only one that is noisy on drivers side cylinder 3 I think.
