Rumbling Noise
« on: 22 October 2010, 07:55:46 »

Hi
its me again sorry to seek advice once again
after having my oil pump changed by a muppet garage who caused more jobs than it went in with .
I am getting a rumbling noise as i approach 60 mph and never goes away till i drop below 60 ish when they did the job they took out the radiators and never resealed the auto trans cooler consequently it leaked it got low on fluid as the gear changes were rough and on moving away it lurched forward as it changed up to 2nd i took it back gave the mandatory verbals and they resealed it and refilled it i said must be Dexron 3 they said "yes we know", They said  they put in 2 litres and it does change ok but i have read about a thrust washer in the box what symptoms does that give and what would i expect the cost of repair to be, i will have to take it to a gearbox specialist around here, it just that ide like to be armed for the diagnosis they give me, if indeed it is the box or the thrust washer, i was going to book it in for a fluid change anyway
thanks ever so much
Rob

I am glad it is sorted for you Rob, it is unbelievable how many garages claim they can do this that and the other and can't.
Enjoy it again Mate.
