Only drive by wire v engines, 3.2 2.6 have that luxury.

Paper clip test on the 2.5 and 3.0.

But I would want to see the relevant code before replacing the relevant part.

Also to consider, pattern sensors are shite, GM only, and cleaning the icv may help at tick over speeds on non drive by wire cars, depending on the exact symptoms and codes present.

Certainly cleaning the icv won't do any harm at all.

If the crank sensors you have already out on have been "cheap" . they have not been genuine VX ones .. so may be considered "rubbish"

Genuine only I'm afraid ..... and fitted as per the guide else you'll be changing them every few months ... :(

Has anyone got an idea how long on average a GM one will last. I've had the Elite about 14 months now, it must be a genuine GM one, I'm thinking about having a spare one to pre empt its failure.

Thanks

I last replaced my GM sensor about 9 months ago, the time before was probably 6 years before that (about a fortnight after I bought the car)  :y
