Could have swore i topped up the coolant the other day,and today when i checked again,i am sure its gone down a bit.Saying that,ever since i have had  the car,it always seemed to emit steam from the zorst(not smoke),could this be anything to do with it?.Also there is no oil in the water,and vice versa. :-/

Exhaust does quite an efficient job of condensing water vapour in the exhaust gasses, thus steam from the exhaust, particularly on colder days.

The only true way to see if you are actually loosing coolant is what you are doing - topping up when cold and then rechecking when cold and top up if required.

If it is actually falling, repeatedly and not just bleeding air after work on the system, then look for staining.  Heater bypass valve always a favourite, rear left of the engine as you stand looking at it from the front....

Saying that,i did disconnect the water lines from the throttle body last weekend to reseal the camcover gaskets,and also it seems to emit steam in the summer aswell.Would hbv cause it to steam. :-/

As said, engine does emit steam as its quite efficient at that.  My 3.2 shows steam from a cold start and does not faze me whatsoever.

What is important is, if you are actually loosing coolant.

If you have just done work on the system, it may simply be bleeding air out.  Look for pink staining if you have to continually top it up.  If it stops after a few days then the air introduced when working on it has now been removed. 

Best way to bleed air is to, from cold, start the engine with heater on max then squeeze the large hoses passing the battery to induce 'burping' of the air and top up to the cold line as required.

Once to temperature, replace the cap and run for a day.  repeat next morning - from cold - and see whats what the following morning as regards fluid level and repeat if required.

did the bleeding work,as i topping up coolant on mine regularly...have changed the HBV as thought this was the case but it still doing it....if bleeding don't work anywhere else it common to leak from as can't see any staining

If your water level is dropping there must be a leak.
Can you see a leak? Can you smell the anti freeze/water?
Places to look

1. Hbv
2. Leaking Bottle or Cap.
3. Leaking "Dowty Washers" on the Coolant Bridge.
4. Thermostat
5. Oil Cooler Plate.
