auto box help needed

hey guys once again unfortunatley im posting in this section :( on my way to work today the gearbox light came on as i was pulling onto a dual carridge way :S i put my foot down and the car sort of jumped about and wouldnt go any where so i easied off and just took it easy and it was fine is there anything i can check sensor wise or any help that may help? thanks guys

Check the fluid level first.

plus is there a filter that i can change and is it easy to change the fluid?

There's a guide in the Maintenance Section for changing the fluid/filter.
