My 2.5 has LPG.It runs the same on gas as it does on petrol.Approx 24mpg at around 74p per litre currently, although LPG prices are rising sharply at the moment.
DIY, approx £700 for the kit, if you are handy with the spanners.Pro jobs vary from £1200 ( which is what the reciept formine from June 08 says) to around £2500.
Stag kits seem to be the most commonly used by members on here.
There are pretty comprehensive guides for doing the job on here, and several knowledgeable members who have done the job who are always willing to give advice.
I bought mine already converted from another member, so not experienced at fitting personally.
Professional jobs seem to have quite a poor reputation - varying from the downright dangerous in some cases, to untidy, not very well planned - like mine.
One member - Entwood - has had a pro installation done and by all accounts it was a thoroughly professional (if expensive) job.
Before you jump in, do some calcs. How many miles p.a. How much you are likely to save, how long it will take to pay for itself etc. If you assume a saving of approx. 30%, that will be pretty accurate imo.Hope that helps.
