Replacement keys ? are they available?
« on: 01 March 2011, 18:15:03 »

Hi everyone.
have a slight problem with my newly aquired facelift 3.0 MV6

When opening the car doors by remote, the remote key seems a bit difficult to use . You sometimes seem to have to push the buttons very firmly to make it work. most times it seems to work ok with just light pressure.

SWMBO  rang me this morning saying that she could not get it to work & after opening it manually the alarm went off. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just wondering if replacements remote/key are available from vauxhall.

I do not have the original "Car Pass" with this car  so thinking I may have a bit of a problem here if I want to get another key. :o :o

Any ideas on this one

Regards, Essex Big Al :) :) :)

i think it was about £60 per key.

they charge for a new pass too (as i hadnt got mine if i remember rightly)

Keyfob is around £25+VAT for fob. http://theboy.omegaowners.com for programming, but needs car's PIN.

Or send it to Martin Imber who will replace switches for a tenner.

Or if ever you get around my parts at any point and bring some switches, I'll do it for free.  But I'm not really on the way to anywhere ;D

I had the same problem with one of the keys on my newly aquired Miggy. The rubber fob had been butchered and the buttons wouldn't work correctly. I opened up the fob & the microswitches were goosed. I bought a replacement shell & rubber buttons off fleabay & 3 new micro switches. I then set about replacing the micro switches on the circuit board. (You need a steady hand & good soldering skills). Couple of burned fingertips later, & I'd managed to replace the switches. Put back together and it works a treat  :y :y :y
