02 Sensors 2.6 Y26SE
« on: 09 March 2011, 05:36:38 »

Hi
Could anyone tell me which 02 sensor is which on my 2002 Omega V6 2,6 Y26 SE. It has one on each down pipe left and right and one after each small cat. My fault code P0141 tells me that I have a faulty sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2.
I have reset and also bought my fuel from from a non super market filling station but fault still comes back.
Any thoughts please. Local dealer not much help.

I suspect this may be one of the common issues with 2.6 and 3.2 engines due to the location of the sensors after the pre-cats which aren't up to the job. A sensor change may temporarily cure the problem but the only way to permanently fix it is to move the sensors further down past the main cats. Not a particularly easy job but some on here have had it done including myself. :)

Sorry to say Bob .. but possibly slightly in error here .. :(

0141 is a heater circuit error code .. NOT the known cat in-efficiency code (0420/0430) that 2.2/2.6/3.2 suffer from. Moving the sensors will NOT rectify a heater circuit error .. :(
