LPG -how to turn it off ???

recently my timing belt snapped, so went and got a new head
1 st problem we run into how do i turn the lpg off so that we can put the new one on lol.

It should have electro-mechanical solenoids so will be switched off anyway but there may be a knurled knob at the tank end as a mechanical shut off too.

There will be some vapour in the pipework still so take the proper precautions.... Gloves, no ignition sources and plenty of ventilation :y :y

is this black knob the one you mean

is this black knob the one you mean

If that's the type of tank you have it's a 4 hole tank so it will be shut off electronically... That knob is just for the cover on the gas tight box :y Inside it there may be a knurled brass knob (think grip instead of moulded) but AFAIK there aren't manual shut off's on a 4 hole setup :y

As soon as you release any gas connection you will automatically shut off the supply from the tank via a safty shut off valve, you will release a small amount of vapour but nothing much. disconnect the battery and cover the terminals with something so as to not short out causing sparks. On reconnection check jointd with soapy water to see if leaking :y
