Any recommended place for parts?
« on: 17 April 2011, 16:33:07 »

Hi,

I have messaged andyc already, but also interested for the future, if anyone has any recommended places for parts in general?

Currently just after the two gaskets for a replacement manifold and one of the stud (that go into the head that the manifold mounts onto).

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, tried for a manifold on here but had no joy unfortunately, sourced one elsewhere for 46.80 delivered.

Ill have a look at euro car parts and bookmark it, always willing to take advice from those more experienced than me  :)

Vauxhall dealers can be a good source of parts, they surprised me last week when I needed front pads and disks for my Vectra. Our usual motor spares shop quoted me £58 all in which seemed expensive so I tried the main dealers, they were only a fiver more expensive and the quality (thickness) of the discs far surpassed the motor factors efforts...

I need front discs / pads for mine, funnily enough I did ask at a dealer in Lincoln and they quoted me £130.00!

You need a trade card!  :y

Trade card for genuine consumable type parts (best from the dealers IMHO), wishbones (Lemforder OEM) from All German Parts - though the quality seems to be slipping - best to fit polly bushes in them next time around!

It's best to post up on here as most parts have been bought by someone, from somewhere at somepoint!

Shelby,
I replaced the front brake pads on mine about 3 weeks ago and Warners offered me a set of Discs and pads for £80. That's with the trade club membership and there was a special offer on as well, which they may still be running. I only needed pads, which at about £17 I thought was a pretty good price for the genuine VX parts. I'm in the Lincoln area as well, so if you want to check the trade club price with Warners and that they have stock and the offer is still on I could meet you there and get them at the trade club price. I pass there twice a day anyway.

It might be worth checking at vauxhallworldparts.com as well, they have very good prices for genuine and oem parts, though delivery is extra, unless you happen to be in Grays - Essex and can collect.

Cheers SteveS.  It was Warners on Outer Circle Road that quoted me £130, but will give them another try and see about TC prices.

Thanks andyc, trying to source for a decent price locally if I can as postage bumps it up a fair bit and need them ASAP as mine are that bad now they are grinding when I brake a bit harder!
