ABS ECU is on the way out. Needs repairing or replacing. ;)

Classic symptoms of the ABS ECU failing .. loads of threads about it, and some pictures of the internal failure, if you search for them.

Fix is relatively simple ... but fiddly.. only 6 torx screws to undo .. its just getting to them that is the pain ...

3 choices on the fix :

1) New from Vx .. around £650 plus it needs a Tech2 session to configure it to your car .. VX charge about £80 for that !!

2) Used from a breaker. Internal quality unknown . it could fail next week. If its from the same model year/engine you might not need a tech2 .. but then again you might. Prices vary

3) Get yours repaired .. about £130 but a 2 year warranty .. give BBA Reman a ring (google for their site/number). tech2 session NOT required as it is already set to your car.

I went the BBA route .. well pleased with them and the result.

HTH  :)

Its one unit.

Also, accept the fact your mechanic probably doesn't know his arse from his elbow....
