Al....worth checking to see if you have 1 fitted to each front side or just 1 as being F/L they teneded only to have a single sensor.

I am not suggetsing anything which is a "bodge or detrimental"it,s just as I tend to cahnge the front pads normally 3 times a year due to mileage I drive they stating adding a fair bit of cash to a standard brake pad refit.

They do come out as suggested with a small punch through the center hole but from my last experience you go to refit the sensor in the pad and just when you think it has reseated the white porcelain body falls apart.Then the pads need removing again avaoiding copperslip everywhere just to get the broken pin out.

Cut the wires and rejoin....thats might method now and replace every 10k .

Doubtful, 2.2 introduced late `99 two sensors, post `01, one sensor. Most probably a cost-cutting exercise

2001 model year was when they changed to 1 sensor.

Sensors are about £7+VAT trade from dealer.


If the car has it, it has to work imho...  ...not that I am quite as bad as LazyCripple and GayBoy...

I'll pick up a pair of new ones tomorrow ready for Saturday  :y
