I know diamonds are made of carbon

but does that realy mean you have to pay £180 for genuine vauxhall leads when you can buy bosh ones + super 4 plugs for £75. Talk about a rip off.

Ah yes, but diamonds are dug up out of the ground, genuine GM parts are highly engineered by skilled craftsmen, then packaged and shipped from all over the world for our convenience.

Then the dealers put their 300% mark up on just to rub our noses in it.  ;D

Lol, dealers will be lucky to get 20%!

As for plugs, go for genuine parts, good quality and cheapest of the lot on trade club plus I dont rate 4 electrode plugs, bit to much shielding of the flame front for my liking.

I remember a time when the Vx leads were only £150 a set.  That was of course when one on each side failed so I needed both sides doing.

To be fair to GM/Vx... generally speaking their parts are good quality and the prices are quite down to earth. Spark plugs are good buy even at Retail, as are front discs and pads. They do have some odd ones out, like the wishones or front wheel bearings, but I suspect that this is more due to some parts slipping through the net rather than any attempt to make huge profits. For one thing, very few people actually buy original Vx front wheel bearings (though I did, and they were special order because no one stocks them...), or wishbones (I bought patern ones from VSC), so Vx are not really making lots of money on the few overpriced parts they have on their catalogue.
