4lb Lump ready for action.
« on: 08 June 2011, 16:04:44 »

Hi all having purchased my first Omega a year ago and for the most part loving it, it has only taken the twelve months to realise that they really can take the mick. Here then is my cry for help before the 4lb lump hammer takes over. It would seem that i have the same recurring problem in that the engine will not run smooth and even at an average speed ie 40/50 mph, it feels like i am driving with my foot on off on off the accelerator.
In the past twelve months work carried out to rectify this is as follows.
New spark plugs.
New spark plug covers and springs.
New cam gasket and oil rings purchased at dealer.
New fuel pressure regulator.
Throttle body cleaned new gasket fitted.
All breather pipes removed and cleaned.
The annoying thing is that this has all been done on two occasions and afterwards the car runs like clock work but hey about a week later i am back to square one so can any body shed some light onto my problem or i guess my patience or lack of it means that the lump hammer might just get an airing. >:( >:( >:(

If its any consolation i have the same problem, slight misfire every now and then, mainly on LPG but starts fine on petrol idles like a bag of spanners until warm.
I think it is an air leak, just can't find it....

Dis pack or as said an air leak, as for the air leak, you can try the spray can trick and spray carb cleaner around the intake gaskets and see if the idle changes, it will if it is being sucked in through a knacked o ring or gasket. :y
