Help! Missing vacuum pipe-ID sought
« on: 10 June 2011, 13:21:42 »

Just re-installing the plenum on this extended cambelt job and i've found a vacuum pipe elbow that I don't remember disconnecting and Don't seem to have a pipe for.

The rubber elbow is right at the front of the plenum immediately under the throttle body. In that area I've connected the two coolant hoses and still have the two vac pipes to fit near the bottom of the multi ram system.

I don't have a third pipe.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Graham.

Pretty sure it connects onto a little vacuum inlet on the underside of the plenum. Should also be a vacuum pipe close by to attach it to. :-/

Hi Albs,

The elbow is still attached to the underside of the plenum, as you say, but I have no pipe.
Any idea where the pipe that connects here originates?

Regards,

It'll be the fuel pressure regulator reference port. Little black pipe runs up from the back of the valley to connect to this. :y

Hi Tango/Kevin.

Just cross posted with you then Tango.

I think I have found it in the valley under the plenum. I can see a pipe but I can't quite flick it out. I'm just going to lift the plenum and make sure I pull the correct one through.

I'm just going out now, so I'll report back later.

Thanks all.

Yep, it's a proper PITA, and not quite possible to get on with the plenum, bolted down if you forget, IME. ::)

Watch you don't pull it out at the back end though. It only pushes into another rubber sleeve back there.

If you get the plenum off
Conect the rubber elbow on to the black pipe
Make sure the black pipe is running straight as it's just the right length
Then seat the plenum down you should be able to push it on the plenum
Be careful not to pull it off the black pipe again as toil have to start all over again

Problem solved!

Thanks all.
Pipe was under the plenum-as suggested. I must have folded it back on itself to keep it out of the way and forgot.

All connected up and fired first time.. Success!!

Thanks all.
