Instrument failure
« on: 12 June 2011, 11:40:52 »

While I was driving my 1998 Elite 2.5 TD  at around 80 mph there was a distinct click and the Speedo and Revcounter failed, also all the other dashboard instruments and gauges went dead. Also not now working are the radio, windows, climate control (still works on manual) and trip computer. The MF display shows SAFE and the car runs well has anyone any ideas?

Thanks for that, it's certainly the right fuse but it blew again after a few seconds. I guess its a careful elimination of all the parts that might be causing the problem. Thanks again.

From Memory;

Climate Panel,
Stereo,
MID,
Dash Clocks,
Memory Drivers Seat,

I'd suspect the Memory Drivers Seat as first port of call.

Hate to tell you this, but my old Omega had this problem and I never got to the bottom of it.

My Cig. Lighter and Drivers Seat Memory still work, thank goodness, as I was on a long trip in France and was using two drivers and TomTom in the cig lighter socket as a speedo.
