question about throttle body
« on: 27 June 2011, 09:47:37 »

Cleaned the throttle body and the breathers  few days ago.
Was pretty shocked how dirty the throttle body was (it was cleaned some 30 000 kilometres ago.
When the throttle body was removed the pipe (housing) bellow it was also dirty as hell.
When looking from the drivers side into this pipe (housing) I notuced a hole on the oposite side.
This hole was so dirty that it was virtually completely blocked.
What is this hole used for?
Also I noticed that the hole leads to the back part of the engine, but since there was so much dirt I'm not sure does it lead also to the front part?

This sounds like the point where exhaust gases from the EGR system feed into the fresh airflow.

Photo would help.
