Hi there,

This has probably been asked already!!

I have a 99 elite with bose ice...Very good sound but... The lower drivers door speaker isn't working. I assume all the speakers are powered from the amp? The top tweeter is ok so I'm thinking a wire/connection somewhere... Just wandered if this is common and where to start looking?

I have similar issue (though had similar before I retrofitted Bose).  Knackered speaker is more likely, followed by connections (door plug, kick panel plug, amp plug, head unit plug)

Thought that was probably the case... Are they special speakers or can I fit any the correct size? Just thinking that if it's knackered then I might fit a pair of aftermarket ones, probably cheaper than a Vauxhall one!!

Still... No rush... It's not that noticeable unless you're a fussy git like me!!

yes the bose speaker is special to the bose system !! lower ohms iirc

Guess I'll just have to live with it for a while unless I can find a faulty connection!

Swap the speakers over from the other door for confirmation whether it's fault speaker or not. My money is on dodgy connection. You might be lucky and find it on back of speaker.

The speakers aren't sided, so either front one will do.

Tweeter wouldn't work if that was the case.....

TB, have you tried the sound check function on Tech 2?

If there was a wiring fault into the door wouldn't the tweeter have packed up too? I'm thinking it's got to be the speaker itself but been dodging the rain so didn't take the other side off too so I could cross check.

Measure the resistance of the speaker, should be about 2 ohms (for Bose)

Arse... I've just put it all back together as I'm off to work shortly!!

I'll have another look later! TBH it's not really that noticeable with all the others anyway! Just me being fussy... Everything has to work!

Yes, but always works.  But then, mine is intermittent.  I know currently the cone is damaged, and have a replacement to go in, but I had this intermittent problem when I had CCR600 and std speakers...
