Heated screen and cigarette plugs not working?
« on: 18 April 2008, 22:14:19 »

Hi all. Any one got any info that might help?  My heated rear screen, heated seats and both cigarette lighters dont work. I've checked the fuse under the steering column and that was fine. Is there another that I've missed? Thanks in advance.

as far as i can tell they all run off fuse no.14 (as does the power steering) which would point to the fuse,if its not that then i dont know what else it could be,but some one else might :-/

Hi!
There are more fuses under the bonnet that could be worth looking at, in a black box, top right hand side next to battery.  Six main system fuses, plus others.  MAY be the answer, as it certainly sounds like a fuse problem (I had a similar one the other day!) BUT fuse 14 in the box under the steering column  IS THE fuse for these facilities on your car. :D  Lizzie Zoom

Further to my reply this morning, have you sorted your problem yet?  Was it the fuse?  I would love to know. :)  Lizzie Zoom :D

I had a recent issue of everything on that centre switch panel (except the hazards) went.  By a process of elimination, it was the drivers heated seat which blew the fuse, yet after making a mental note not to use the heated seat again (I actually wasn't at the time...??), replaced the fuse, then accidentaly hit the heated seat switch, yet fuse didn't blow!  ONly thing I did was move the seat, so somethings probably awry with the wiring.

Just because the fuse looks ok, don't assume it is...been there, t-shirt, etc.  If you have a voltmeter, you can check for voltage TO the fuse by measuring the voltage at the top terminal of the fuse with the engine running (there's no volts there with just ignition on - or rather there isn't on mine!).  That might be another clue...?

Cheers for that. Didn't think to check voltage at fuse box. Will check in the morning. :) :) :)
