CCR800 Bose system in Elite estate -boot speakers
« on: 04 October 2008, 14:05:17 »

As I'm a  newbie to these cars I'd like a clarification of what I've found on my '98 Elite 3.0 estate mini-facelift please!

It appears to have the CCR800 stereo with Bose. I'vwe found a Bose speaker in the boot on the LH side behind a carpeted door in the inner rear quarter. There is a 6-CD player on the other side. There doesn't seem to be a matching RH speaker. Have I missed it? Also, the EPC parts catalogue shows an amplifier in the tailgate. Is this correct?

I have to say that the system sounds very, very good.

The Bose Estates only have 1 Sub Box (single speaker) on the NS.

Not sure where they fit the amps on FLift's.

Ah, thanks for that. The EPC is a minefield for finding things like that, every component of what a sensible person might think of as a complete system is listed in different sections. Mad. For example the cruise control ECU is under electrics, the wiring under Body, the actuator under something else, the column switch under Instruments, and so on. So my search for Amplifier only showed the one in the tailgate, and it's a bit unclear what it is for.

Thanks guys, very helpful.
