hiya, i took the driver kick plate off tonight looking for a big socket? to plug my cd changer loom into...
where abouts is it?
i looked up under the headlight switch and could see anything but gearbox ecu and took some carpet up even!

all i can see is gearbox ecu and central locking ecu

Should be VERY obvious...a large black or grey plastic connector thats held on by the bolts holding the central locking ECU in place...

does it actually connect to the central locking ecu or just fasten on using the same bolts if you get me?

Just fastens on using the same bolts...

which wires go to the head unit then from the cd changer?
(i really need to have another look at all the bits of the loom lol!

Did you not get the grey connector bit with the loom?? Basically the loom from the headunit etc connects into the top of the grey connector much the same way as the loom would connect into the ECU...

no matey, got no "grey connector"
only the long bit of loom with the black socket with elongated brackets for the bolts
and the head+cd changer
