Audio Part II
« on: 28 November 2008, 14:12:07 »

Right guys, you got me sorted with the display after fitting the CCR600 head unit from my Vec so on to the next problem.

The head unit is not detecting the changer in the boot, it is a Phillips 6 disk unit but I have not model number as yet. When the head unit was in the Vec it connected to a Blaupunkt 6 disk changer. Is it likely that the Phillips isn't compatible with the CCR600 and I need to fit the Blaupunkt? Or do you know if the cable is different for the two changers?

I reckon I could fit the Blaupunkt in the boot shroud okay but in the Vec the changer is in the glovebox so if it is a cable thing I am stuffed.

The Phillips unit has power and the green eject button lights up when you press it so I am presuming it isn't a fuse/power connection problem.

Its nice to have jobs to look forwards to for the weekend isn't it? ;)

99.9% certain that the Philips changer is NOT compatable.

If it was originally fitted with the Blaupunkt changer, then it must remain with that changer.

Thanks Dave, thats what I suspected. Do you know if the cable between the units is different or if they work with Phillips and Blaupunkt units?

Cheers

Forget this, the cable for the Phillips was a different connector and only has 9 wires. The Blaupunkt has 10. I have removed the CCR600 and refitted the JVC CD/Radio til I decide what head unit/changer I want.

Thanks for the help anyways ;)
