Radio/CD removal
« on: 02 January 2009, 17:30:59 »

Hi

New to this forum but I have a 2001 2.6 V6 GLS omega and was wondering if it is possible to remove the vauxhall cd unit and replace with a standard shape sony unit.

Many thanks

it should be yes, there should be 4 allen key grub screw like things towards each corner of the head unit, remov these and use stereo removal tools (or in my case a set of small allen keys :P )
you'll need a facia adapter and some iso adapter leads

yup, if its a single din unit you will need an adapter, as your car is designed for double din units.

Unless you buy extra adapters, you will also lose steering wheel and display functions.

Why Sony? Much better systems out there than annoying Sony Shite....
