Fuel pump not working 2.2 petrol
« on: 30 January 2009, 18:40:31 »

Car won't start which after some investigation seems to be the fuel pump is not being turned on. This I found as fuse 18 never has 12v on it.
I have tracked back to the relay 20 in the engine bay and the red wire to it should have 12v according to the haynes manual. So I will now have to try to find where the 12v is lost between the battery and the relay base.
The Haynes manual shows it is routed via FV3 - how can I find the connectors as I cannot see any reference to location in the haynes manual.

Just to add the fix.

Kevin Wood pointed out there should be 12v at all times on the relay red wire. There wasn't and the source is via the 30A fuse in the box by the battery. Replaced the fuse and all is well.
