Omega transpoder key

where can i get a spare, the cheepest i have come accross is £65 all in programed etc, is this a good price or can i use a second hand transponer with a new blade.

The way it works is, you have to use Tech 2 to tell your key reader module (around the key slot) to accept your transponder ship as valid. This requires a VX Car Pass.  You can add up to 4 ( I think) transponder chips, although how they work out the modifying code is past me  :y

So someone who says he can send you a spare for Facelift, already programmed is wrong. Not sure about the technique for earlier cars.

.. and we're talking about the little chip inside the key blade here. The remote for the door locks is separate.

Ken is correct. Car, transponder, Tech 2 and car pass need to be in one place for the union to happen. Not possible by post. :y

no i think i may have got muddled, he is local and will come to the car to do it for £65 suppliied n fitted
