alarm problem
« on: 06 July 2009, 20:40:12 »

My alarm keeps going off. Tried cleaning up all the sensors but no joy. I have managed to disconnect the horn/sirean, this stops the neighbours getting upset. Is there anyway to turn it off completly?

First easy check is to disconnect the bonnet switch. Being as big as the bonnet is, temp variations can move thebonnet enough to lift the bonnet off the switch, kidding the alarm into thinking the bonnet has been lifted. The bracket get bent as you work on the car, but diconnecting it will discount the switch from the rest of the alarm as a test!  ;)
After that, it could also be failed batteries in the power sounder which leak over the pcb's in there (under the screen scuttle/driver's  side ......... just noticed you're in Germany ::) it's RHD driver's over here - not sure about LHD cras  :-?   ;D  ;D:y  :y

As Andy B says. If powersounder is disconnected http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1220198611 alarm shouldn`t cause any more problems :y

disconected the powersounder last year due to the battery problem. Bonnet catch will try that one. The alarm did used to go off after having the bonnet up but now its all the time, however its only been since the hot weather. Thanks
p.s its a RHD
