« on: 04 February 2010, 18:43:39 »

Hi when we had all that snow the washer system didnt work and i suspected it had frozen. Now its still not working as in no water coming out the jets for both windscreen and headlamps. Ican hear the pump working so i dont think its the pump. Any ideas and help would be graitfull!! I have a Xreg 2.5 CDX

Pull the pump out of the washer bottle, it's just a push fit (the smaller of the two if you have headlamp washer). The pump sits in a grommet which when you remove it, you'll see is also a filter/strainer, and will be full of slime/sludge. Wash it and replace & I'm sure that'll sort your washers!  :y  :y  :y

You need to remove the pump motor and pull the bung that the motor pushes into out of the plastis res tank, you will see that the filter screen  is blocked and needs to be cleaned and then refitted back intothe tank. Refit as removed.
This is normally the result of the wrong amount of washer fluid being put into the tank and bung up the screen. :)

You'll be aswel to flush all the existing washer fluid out with the hose pipe shoved into the filler neck while you have the pump removed.  :y :y
