If you change ECU, need to change immobiliser ECU and key transponders.

If someone has the correct standard chip I could probaby burn a copy of it. Might get you back up and running?

Or send me the remains of the old one and I might be able to copy that assuming all the pins are there in some form or another.

No. ECU needs to be there and paired with immobiliser and transponders. :(

Have you checked for fault codes?

Is it possible that something wasn't reconnected properly when you plugged the ECU back in to the car?

What damage did you do to the chip on removal? May give some clues as to what may be wrong.

Did you damage any of the through plating on the circuit board? If so, make sure socket is soldered on both sides of the pcb - just a thought?

doesnt appear to have any fault codes and solder is all the way through to give good connections.chip arms have snapped off,not all of them 4 in total.i repair hifis as a hobby and so know how to do nits like this usually but this has me baffled!!im leaning towards it being the chip as regardless of what i do to the board the fualt is allways the same.

i had the exact same symptoms when i done one for somebody a while ago, it turned out to be a dry joint on the socket base i put in, but once i went through them again it was worked fine.

If it was the same problem can you tell me which joint!I've done them all five times ensuring solder is all the way through and it's still the same!

oh blimey i cant remember to be honest as it was about a year ago :-/, i just went along with a magnifying glass & re-done any that looked a little suspect, the large contact in the corner was one of them im sure, but cant remember any of the others, but a mag glass certainly helps,,,good luck :y
