As said before, you need a code reader to ask the car, it could be either sensor or either level motor.  ;)

Needs a diagnostics machine capable of reading the Headlight Levelling ECU.  Many generic readers can't.

It also needs an operator capable of interpreting what the machine is telling them, which rules out most garages and an awful lot of dealers ;D

Had this on the Estate - visually checked all ok.  As said above my cheapo "Tech2" wouldn't talk to sensor ecu.  Mates kit (much more expensive) gave error code for front wheel sensor.  Just about to change it and noticed corrosion on one of the wires about halfway along lead from sensor to front of car.  Cut wire, cleaned it up and rejoined it.  Wiped error message and now no MID error - and can hear adjuster motors working.  Rechecked error codes - all clear.

Sometimes cure not always straightforward!!

Indeed, the key skill with error codes is remembering that they are nothing more than the ecu reporting that somethin gis out of range or not as it should be.

This could be a sensor, wiring etc  :y
