I believe that if the lights you have bought are classed as daytime running lights then you have to keep the original sidelights to stay legal on older vehicles

thanks for the heads up on that reg, i take it the led just simply connects to the sidelight wiring so that they come on with sides then

not really trying to make it look like an audi.. trying to give car makeover, colour coded trim, facelift bumpers, red tint rear lights, black tint front lights like mr jensens in photo gallery and angel eyes have already been done, and i like the look of the led runs. really just trying to smarten car up without going down the boy racer route to far. any ideas are welcome we all got different tastes 8-)

Yes, but watch the polarity !! The LED ones will have a +ve and a -Ve, so you will need to meter your sidelights to find which way round the wires go.

And why not, eh?

As you've just found out, if it's not a standard car, then it'll get pooh-pooh'd alot on here, especially when it comes to LED's.

Simply connect the LED wires in the sidelight circuit, and if they don't work, switch the wires around - as said, LED's have a -ve and +ve.

By replacing some rear light bulbs with LED's, you might get a fault on the MID - mine did when I stuck some LED's in for the brake lights, but my front sidelights have been swapped for LED's and there's no fault showing.

Anyway, at the end of the day, your car = your rules! :y
