if you find the towbar wiring socket there is a 12v supply there, not sure where it is on the saloon but on the estate its tucked away under the tailgate slam panel between the spare wheel and the bumper

I put one just back from the triangle storage space for the same purpose. Used the 12v trailer supply as suggested earlier

As said, there is a permanent 12v supply to the towing connector in the boot. Looking at the wire it's probably good for 15-20 amps or so but it will probably need the fuse fitting in the fusebox. I would also find a way of disabling the output when the engine stops to prevent the battery getting drained though.

To be effective a refrigeration system needs a flow of air to carry the heat away.

If a fridge is shut away in the boot it is going to work until the temperature in the boot becomes too high for the fridge to function.

If you have an estate then it should work if you slide the load cover back to permit the hot air out.

Can't say for an estate, but you'll have an air flow throughte boot via the vent behind the flap the first aid kit is fixed to.  :y

Can go with that one as I have left the cooler on and flattened the 'weak' battery. Carry jump leads as a back up.
