SAFE MID- input security code.?
« on: 29 May 2010, 14:09:28 »

This morning I just disconnected the neg lead on the car prior to doing the DIS pack change.

Recon the battery and the dash lights up but won't turn the engine. Suspect it isn't the battery as it is the same with another battery for jump starting..

MID says SAFE. Tried to input radio code but no beep after holding down AS button and no flashing bars and switching radio on.

Now suspect it is safe as in SECURITY code. I have it but have never had to put it in before. The car has a Power sounder but it hasn't sounded ever in 10 yrs. Suspect previous owner disconnected it

How do you input the security code if that is the problem?

It is the std Philips radio /cassette with seperate 6 CD unit in boot. I have codes for both and know how to input them.

The 3rd code is security and relates to the key and immobiliser.

The good news is that all the fuses in the secondary aux fuse box (on top of the positive battery terminal) were loose. Pushing them home has resulted in the car turning over But the batterie(s) are in need of a charge up.   :y
