a 2.2 will have the usual transponder/immobiliser ecu/engine ecu secure setup.

Does your eml flash? If not, its not immobiliser fault...

LOL, that explains it, and confirmed my previous comment - he is not very good at his job ;D

OK, is 12v permenently at the main starter motor 12v connection? Do you get 12v at starter solenoid when key is in cranking position?  I would assume the 'auto electrician' guy would have checked this but I get a nagging feeling he hasn't....

Also worth checking, if 12v isn't getting to starter solenoid when key in cranking position, that they are no 3rd party immobilisation devices (generally, cheap nasty ones simply break the 12v connection to starter solenoid, and are thus pretty pointless)

Yes we get 12v at all connections so we ended up putting a wire from ignition to starter

So were you getting 12v at the solenoid when cranking? And permenent 12v at main starter connector when cranking? If yes, and the engine earths are good, then suspect the starter motor.

So you mean the starter is causing a power build up so cutting power to the starter .Because it starts withe wire  direct from ignition

Ah, sorry, that was not clear.

I presume from your profile that this is not an early Omega, thus shoudl use the transponder/immobiliser/ecu setup. This setup, if it is an immobilser problem, flashes the EML on the dash.

No flashes of the EML and its a 03 2.2
