stereo and strange noises!
« on: 09 July 2010, 19:06:38 »

My stereo worked perfect if volume was low but when turned higher it would go silent for a second every few seconds.
Today driving home from work it was far worse so in my temper i wound it up to full blast.
Now all that happens is the front passenger side speaker makes a loud humming noise.
Somebody please help cause i find it a nightmare driving without tunes.

Probably a short circuit speaker that was causing the stereo to shut down as it saw a problem, and by cranking it up, you may now have blown the stereo as well.

Check all the speakers carefully, I`ll bet one of them has a cooked voice coil - but apart from relacing all of those, you may as well need to do a deal on a repair or new head unit also

thanks for your reply.
I have taken off the speaker that makes all the noise and there is no noise from any speaker now but the stereo is playing cd's as normal just no sound.
