Ye olde classic central lock issue
« on: 19 August 2010, 17:54:30 »

Hi there!

Just wanted to flesh out my particular issue and see what you all have to say. :)

Model: Omega V6 2.5 2000

Problem: The front-side driver's door does not lock when pressing the lock button, or open when the opening button is pressed.

- When locking:
The 3 other doors locks then instantly unlocks, while the front-side driver's door lock moves slightly but ultimately stays open.

- When unlocking:
The 3 other doors open, while the front-side driver's door lock opens.

I heard someone talk about lubricating the lock and others about replacing the engine. For a quasi non-adept person, is there any way for me to do either to fix this problem aaand... if I take it to a shop for it, how long do you imagine it would take them to fix it?

Also, since I'm located in Sweden, what would be the cheapest way to get replacement parts (i.e. door-engine gizmo etc.)?

Thanks in advance for your assistance! :)

Kevin Wood has done a maintenance guide for this problem.

See Maintenance Guides.

Thanks, I did actually see and read that guide through as well. Not something I'd venture into myself, I dun think, but maybe I can find someone who will. :)
