door light don't work

hi all drivers door light don't work not the bulb tried it on the passenger door and the unit works, speaker in same door went 2-3 weeks ago lot of damp in door think it might be door wires any help / advice would be great  :( Darren

Might just be sticking contacts on the plunger switch? :-/

Might be, you can check by seeing if the electric window switches go out when the door is opened after removing key from ignition.

Also check the main screw in wiring connector, revealed when the door is open, for corrosion.
Check the wiring in the rubber umbilical that feeds the connector too.

Got a similar issue on my car. If I get hold of the plunger and give it a wiggle the light comes on.

Looks like dirty contacts or broken/weak spring.

Can this be fixed, or is it time for a replacement?
