In order to find out what is causing the interference you need to go back a bit.  Has the stereo always suffered from this ?  Did it suddenly start doing this ?  If it started, was this after something was changed, altered, repaired etc. on the car, or after you fitted something else ?

Does the noise change if you turn on/off the heated rear windscreen ??

The aerial is actually the wires of the windscreen, if these break or get damaged it affects dreception. Can be fixed, sometimes, with conductive paint .. :)

Clean alll the earth connections in the engine bay - anything on the engine and the body - seem to recall there is one under the battery that gets pretty corroded.

Not a definative answer, but a good place to start.

And no, there is no such thing as a simple suppressor to replace.

If nothing comes of checking the ground connections, this could be the alternator starting to fail, so worth checking the charging voltage.
