Reluctant Temperature Gauge
« on: 07 June 2011, 12:18:33 »

I have a 2001 MV6 estate. After developing a coolant leak I have had the head gasket replaced and everything reassembled - the car runs absolutely fine with no leaks but the gauge is not working. It was before the repair and I don't want to drive off not knowing what the temperature is doing. My local dealer has inspected all the wiring, the sender (a new one was put in anyway) and the gauge itself, which they can drive with their diagnostic computer. Everything checks out but the gauge won't budge.

Any suggestions? Can anyone provide a wiring diagram for this model?

Try putting the old sender unit back in, its possible the new one could be faulty.
Did the gauge move when the garage tested it? Could be faulty gauge.
