Got my 'chains' out already....my farm is at 1300 ft. in Snowdonia and whenever forecast makes mention of "a chance of snow" we get it!  :-[

My omega is surprisingly good in snow; M & S tyres all`round and chains only take 2 minutes to add-on.....with the chains it will come up the very steep driveway to the house on even deeply-compacted frozen ruts and when there`s ice-under-snow......my friend`s Subaru Forester 4 x 4 can`t go where the Omega will (with it`s snow tyres/chains).  :y

When I bought them I (mistakenly) asked the Tyre shop for S & M tyres; well, it is a kind of rubber item. :o

Lets face it, just lately the weather forcasts have been crap, to say the least,  ::) the other day (Saturday) we was suppost to have rain during the day in Oxfordshire, guess what, it rained late Friday night / very early hours Sat morning  ::) the rest of the day we had Nice sunshine  :) I think they would be better just sticking their heads out of the window and guessing what the weather is going to do  ;D ;D

Well, we have got some snow-fall this morning; only about 1" lying on the ground.....so the forecasters were correct (this time).  ;D

The first and last time I tried chains take more than an hour an I fail to stretch them properly.. :-[

And the result, never I tried to put chains again.. ;D

I guess you have a spare set of rims with the Mud and Snows on?

I love Snowdonia, have spent many a day in the old Dinorwig slate mine workings....and scrambling Crib Goch, the Glyders and Tryfan

Went up there with a mate of mine who was scared of heights once (had to take over the driving on the way up there). About half way up he was "cured" and ceased to be a gibbering wreck clinging to the rocks and just strolled along the top of the ridge. He went on to get seriously into climbing, did an ice climb up Mont Blanc, etc.
