Time to move on.....
« on: 26 September 2011, 14:51:51 »

Hello all

When I've got the car cleaned up and a few photos taken I'll be listing it in the 'For sale' section, but I thought I might sound you all out about it first.

Yes, I am planning to sell my Omega. I've loved driving it and spending large amounts of cash at the petrol pump, but I'm thinking it's time to find her a good home. I've decided to move in a different direction, car-wise, and am looking at Nissan X-trails, something like 2003/2004 2.2 dCi.

I'm sure you all know what the Elite is so I won't bore you all with a detailed spec list, except to say mine has cloth interior rather than leather - a blessing in really hot, or cold, weather, I can assure you!

All the electrics work, including the rear blind! The only electrical thing I'm not 100% sure of is the auto-dip rear view mirror. But then I don't recall being dazzled by following vehicles either.

Just a few details - new discs & pads all round (& new shoes on the rear), new rear s/l shocks and springs, stainless steel exhaust (Longlife cat back), wheel refurb.

Cam belt & water pump approx 10k miles ago.

Bodywork is fairly good. Bear in mind it is a 133K mile vehicle so it has its fair shair of minor scratches, scuffs and dings. The rear n/s quarter seems to be the worst part, there is a car-park scratch on the wing, what appears to be a scuff on the bumper and it looks like the arch is starting to rust.

The engine is good and strong, as you'd expect from a 3.2 V6  :y. It starts easily and idles smoothly. There is a bit of a tick from the near-side cylinder bank, which might be a lazy lifter. I was going to wait until the next cam-belt change to have that sorted. It's quite a soft tick which you can't hear when inside the car. Sometimes I wonder if it might be the exhaust gasket, or the manifold itself?

The car is a 2001/Y saloon in diamond black.

I was thinking about putting it up for about £1400, would there be much interest at that level? I would rather she went to someone on the forum.

I look forward to your feedback, plus let me know if there is anything else to include when I put the listing up.

Yup, £1.4k is about right for here, being 3.2 you could command a little more on Autotrader  :y
